Obama!

So, Barack Obama was elected 44th president of the United States of America. It is a change pretty much everybody (outside of the US, and obviously also inside) had been hoping for, and the tidal wave of his victory will hopefully mark the beginning of a new era.

However, political promises and the reality are two different beasts. People have very high hopes in him, and only time will tell how well he is actually up to the task. Given the current state of affairs in the US and world wide, it won’t exactly be child’s play.

Indoor climbing

Rauher Kamm / Ötscher

Did a great hike on the Ötscher mountain today. Alexandra and I chose to ascend via the Rauhe Kamm, starting in Lackenhof and first hiking to the Bärenlacke before turning back and traversing the entire ridge to the main peak (5h / 13km / 1050hm). We decided to save our knees and descended with the chair lift of the Lackenhof ski resort. All in all, a really awesome tour.
