Last week I relocated here in Konstanz, and instead of the small room (without daylight) in the shared apartment, I am noch residing in two rooms, totalling 44 sq meters! And that in the beautiful “musician’s quarter”, in the upper floor of a single family house… The kitchen and bathrooms are shared with two very nice students.

My rooms are still a bit empty – despite the Ikea shopping frenzy last Friday – but that will improve shortly. And – better less furniture and lots of space than lots of furniture and no space at all!!

Of course I do not intend to really abandon my home, and I will try to visit my friends as often as possible (and indeed return eventually), but this still means a significant step in my life, and many changes.

This is also a good time to stop for a moment and say thank you to my family and friends.. it has been an awesome trip, and I am incredibly proud and happy that I met you and had your company at least for a part of my life. Each and every one of you has played a major role in my life, sometimes maybe more than you’d imagine…

Incredible but true! With the enormous help of two bikeboard members (nikolei and bigair – with these guys you could easily start up a succesful truckage company!) I’ve really managed to haul almost my entire life into the new apartment… only few things remained due to lack of additional packing cases..

The entire process – including rebuilding furniture / moving them around until I’m satisfied / unpacking all the cases – will take quite a while longer, but progress is being made. At least there’s a bed to sleep in, and most of my clothing is already in the wardrobe. Not much, but a little bit of ‘normal life’ is restored.

The rest will follow tomorrow, with the thankworthy help of a rental truck from Buchbinder and a few guys from the bikeboard forum… It has been great to live here, but it’s time for change. Speaking of change, I’ll be writing more about change soon.
