The Slovakia Experiment 2010

Usually I’m the one with the crazy ideas, but this time it was Inga & Isabell who took the cake, participating in the Slovakia Experiment 2010: ride a single speed or fixed gear bike from Vienna to Bratislava (about 80km), in the thick of winter. Yours truly preferred to play a supporting role this time, teaming up with Lars to shoot a few frames and play taxi for the girls. Fortunately the weather forecast (a total of 70cm of fresh snow over the last few days) turned out to be slightly overestimated, but the conditions still weren’t really all that great.

Still, a surprising number of participants turned up and actually made it to the finish line. Way to go, guys!

Thank your for the warm and dry clothes, the hot tea and the kiss at the finish line. And the ride home, of course. I think as good as Isa and me were riding to Bratislava, the ride back home would have been quite an exhausting trip…
